Just Mercy

A powerful and thoughtprovoking true story, “Just Mercy” follows young lawyer Bryan Stevenson (Jordan) and his history-making battle for justice. After graduating from Harvard, Bryan had his pick of lucrative jobs. Instead, he heads to Alabama to defend those wrongly condemned or who were not afforded proper representation, with the support of local advocate Eva Ansley (Larson). One of his first, and most incendiary, cases is that of Walter McMillian (Foxx), who, in 1987, was sentenced to die for the notorious murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite a preponderance of evidence proving his innocence and the fact that the only testimony against him came from a criminal with a motive to lie. In the years that follow, Bryan becomes embroiled in a labyrinth of legal and political maneuverings and overt and unabashed racism as he fights for Walter, and others like him, with the odds—and the system—stacked against them.

  1. "Their just following orders" so were the nazis. Doesnt make it right. Last week a 22 ye as r old man was murdered by a tactical swat team in Maryland while he was asleep in his own bed. They also shot his pregnant girlfriend. The cops shot them through his wall while his parents and brother were also asleep in their house. As far as I'm concerned every cop in america is the equivalent of the Taliban. I'll say it again #yeetyourlocalcops

  2. The reality is that these stories are true and we should understand that there is people still going through the same thing over and over just not our world if you know what I mean for those who understand where I'm coming from

  3. 1986 – 2015 Anthony "Ray" Hinton convicted 30 years on a faulty ballistics report. Alabama is a place I will never visit or even step foot in! Unfortunately, Good old Southern Hospitality Racism still goes on today. When it takes 30 years to set a man free on death row, over a faulty ballistics report, someone should be placed in that electric chair, that's for dam sure!!
