  1. Devaralan attam is about a vow taken by people to lord Muruga. Kuravi is almost like gypsies or tribals. They vow to God asking for his blessings for rainfall. Vow is in the form of sacrifice

  2. Ancient Tamil human sacrifice to God for victory or any particular reason. Ancient Tamil chozha Emperor Era days Many sacrifices there. But, Human sacrifice is top most. 1. Arikandam => It means sacrificer head(hair) attached to some flexible bamboo stick and sacrifice human kill themselves for victory of king. 2. Navakandam => one Voluntary Man Cut themselves in 9 human body particular location. Blood Sacrifice for nation , people and beloved King. That sacrifice Volunteer long lives in each and every people's heart and memorial stone created. Sacrifice people worship is the greatest Tamil culture. They're considered as familyGod. But Lord Murugan Anicient forefore father of all Tamil people. War God of Tamils. Like as Greek, Roman War god. FamilyGod worship till now followed by Tamil people.

  3. Be awake . As the story progresses every incident written and every character has behind the screen story. Every character is either belongs to chola or pandia in disguise.

There are stories kalki left it as a blank. For the historic question why. "We dont know" is the answer and the story is left a blank question to ask or just confusing turns.

Even when you complete 6books you will be stunned for years for the" why? " questions. Even kalki fictionalsed this history he himself is unaware of what exactly happened

  4. No you did not understand what is happening behind the screens in the book. They are asking gods for the omen (commet) is that bad or good omen for country. Will there be rain and good harvest. And the reply is god asks for a sacrifice from chola bloodline. To make the fortune good for nation. This is pandia trap ( abathudhavi team). The whole perfomance is portrayed by pandia team in disguise to bring end to chola empire. As the book progress you will come across war of sevur. Where aditha karikalan decapitates pandia king veerapandian and pikes infront of his palace. So the kings( veerapandian) personal bodyguards are the aabathudhavigal

  5. You should really understand the lyrics to get the feel of this song. Btw pls watch Simhadri, Rajamouli’s first movie. It was my first telugu movie in cinemas and it was the bahubali of its time.

  6. Yes this kurravai kuthu, which is praise to local Hindu diety Murugan followed by consulting the oracles for prophecy about the future of the kingdom. Of course in this the oracle prophecies that a younger member of the royal family would shed blood referring to the crown prince Aditya Karikalan.

  7. The 'sengurthi seyone" part is asking God ( in this case Lord Muruga) for signs – Kuri – by soothsayers /priests who are supposed to get possessed and the God speaks through them. Very common in tamil society even today in rural areas.

  8. You hit the nail ! Its the Kuravai koothu taking place at Kadambur Palace . For this song they have fused Balinese style Monkey chants with an syle of tamil poetry . This is going to be a trance like experience in a theater fitted with Dolby Atmos surround purely coz of the beautiful sound mixing.

  9. As a native Tamilian I have done my best to translate this song….

Dam dam dam dam dam damare
    Beat beat beat the drum
